Condé Nast Traveler recently posted an article showing the top food in each state. These types of articles can be pretty crazy, but I think they nailed it, at least for my home state of Wisconsin. They said the Cheese Curd (yes, it needs to be capitalized) is our top food and I can't argue with them. I actually really love this list because most of these foods can be found, made, and consumed in the smaller communities of these states. Yet if I sat down in a small diner in Florida and had a key lime pie, I can guarantee that it would taste better there than in Idaho. Peach cobbler in Georgia way better there than in North Dakota. And let's be honest, most people in our world have never had a fresh cheese curd, let alone a fried one, unless you have been to a pub somewhere in Wisconsin.
Check out the whole list here and let me know if they got your state right.
